Welcome to Tidmarsh’s. Since 1976, Tidmarsh’s has been serving the home confectionery person with many unique and hard-to-find items and, of course, service which is second to none. Started by the Tidmarsh family in 1976, the business has evolved to be one of the largest candy and cake decorating supply business in the area. It all happened when Roy Tidmarsh, current owner, graduated from the Culinary Institute of America with honors. His mom, Lois, had been baking and decorating cakes for many years from her home in Ansonia. In fact, it was from her that Roy learned how to decorate. When Roy’s dad, Cliff, retired he also became involved by doing deliveries, working in the store, etc. Today, after many years, Tidmarsh’s is ranked among the best available.
            Although the main business continues to be the cake and candy supply end, the family has developed a very handsome cake decorating line. Specializing in wedding cakes they also create the most beautiful and unique party and special occasion cakes available. Whether it be a bridal shower, communion, baby shower or christening, Etc. Tidmarsh’s does it best. Our cakes are as delicious as they are beautiful. Although advance orders are appreciated, Roy usually tries to “squeeze you in” even at the last moment.

Tidmarsh’s is extremely proud of the cakes, cookies, pies and pastries they produce. Each and every one is hand crafted from the finest ingredients available. No finished products are ever frozen. That’s why advance orders are appreciated.
            A Tidmarsh cake is a celebration itself. For whatever occasion, you will be proud to display and serve a Tidmarsh cake. All products, but most especially cakes, are consistent in quality. Our butter cream is light and fluffy and does not form a crust. Most bakeries use that sickening sweet awful frosting! Not at Tidmarsh’s! Don’t even request it, we don’t use it. Of course, if you prefer, whipped topping, cream cheese icing or dark fudge icing are also available.
            All of Tidmarsh’s cakes are multi-layers with a filling. We will do a cake with no filling but please advise us so we can make sure the cake is baked nice and high. There is no price difference for a cake with or without filling.
            Also available on a Tidmarsh cake is the new computer scan image. This is where we take your picture (or one of ours if you prefer) and place it onto edible paper (via computer) and presto! The picture is entirely edible and on the cake. Even though there is a nominal additional charge, it is really a novel idea and well worth it. A large variety of flowers such as daffodils, orchids, violets, sunflowers, etc. are available for decoration. Remember, advance orders only, especially for these types of things.
            A few other products we have are cookie trays, candy favors for showers and parties and Venetian tables. We also carry the cellophane for cookies and can imprint the ribbon, bows and bags too! Individual table trays are also available. Because we are proud of our cookies, we use clear cellophane to wrap them in and tie them with pretty colored bow of your choice.
     In addition to the cakes, Tidmarsh’s also offers a complete line of accessories to compliment them.  Things such as candy favors and imprinted boxes are always a hit at any party. Tidmarsh’s has an extensive selection of favors for any occasion.
